Why is it not right for parents to be overly strict with children?

Sometimes parents become strict with their children to give them the right upbringing, which is called harsh parenting. Many arguments are made that if children are not treated strictly, then their decision-making abilities may be affected. They do not move in the right direction and thus this harsh parenting continues unabated.

But some research has found that harsh parenting can cause changes in children's DNA, and children exposed to harsh parenting may be more prone to depression later in life. That is the children who are brought up with strict parenting i.e. strict parenting. Later on, their chances of getting into depression are maximum.

If there are children, they will also do mischief. Some children are less naughty and some more. But controlling them excessively can be dangerous for their health. Some parents pacify the children by persuading them, while some try to keep the children within limits by reprimanding them, but a shocking report has come to the fore.

According to this strict parenting not only has a bad effect on the hearts and minds of children but in some cases, it has been found that excessive strictness on children is affecting even their genome mapping. Due to this, changes have been seen even in the DNA of children's genes, which can make them victims of deep shock.

Researchers from a Belgian university created two groups of children with an average age of 14 years. In the first group, 21 children have kept whose parents were supportive towards their children and the pressure on their children was less. In the second group, those 23 children have kept whose upbringing was strict.

The researchers studied the genome mapping of the children in both groups. The researchers found that children who had been subjected to strict parenting had modest levels of methylation in the DNA of their genes. More methylation works to increase depression. First of all, let's understand what kind of problem is this methylation.

It is a chemical reaction that occurs in the body due to compulsion or fear of children. In this process a small molecule binds to DNA, a protein or other molecule. Due to this the number of genes may increase or decrease. Protein production may stop. That is, the change in genome mapping is a major reason. It is directly related to depression.

Not only this, the effect of this change in the DNA of genes in childhood lasts for a long time and can also be a threat in old age. Apart from depression and stress, some immediate effects are also seen in children who are more strict with their parents. Especially irritability, strong temper, fear of facing parents, difficulty in socializing with people, and insomnia

There is one common thing among them. If you want to keep children away from deep depression, then sit and explain to them whenever they make a mistake. Keep them emotionally close to you. Do not put too much pressure on them for any task. Spend quality time with them.

Treat them in such a way that they share everything with you. These are some simple tips that will not only keep the little one mentally fit, but they will also become good friends with you.
