A shocking revelation in the survey regarding Electric Vehicles.

The scope of an electric vehicles is increasing at a very fast pace. Because of expensive petrol, diesel, and increasing pollution, the government is also engaged in promoting electric vehicles. A shocking survey has come out regarding this, which is saying that the era of petrol-diesel vehicles is about to end and it is the era of completely electric vehicles.

ACKO-YouGov India surveyed electric vehicles. According to this survey, about 66% of Indians believe that by the year 2030, the number of electric vehicles will overtake petrol and diesel vehicles. According to the survey, most Indian consumers want to invest in electric vehicles for their benefit.

While 56% want to buy electric vehicles because it is beneficial for the environment. In the survey, it was asked whether the country's infrastructure is ready for EVs, in response to which most people i.e. 60% believe that India's existing public infrastructure is ready to support electric vehicles.

It needs a big improvement while 89% of people believe that India's infrastructure will be ready for electric vehicles by 2030. Among those surveyed who expressed their desire to buy an electric vehicle, 62% were worried about oil prices. While 57% want to buy an electric vehicle because of the latest technology.

The same 51% of the people involved in the survey say that using electric vehicles costs less than petrol and diesel cars. While 48% said that electric vehicles are more economical than petrol and diesel cars. When asked about battery life after an electric vehicle fire, 63% of those surveyed said they did not know the best way to extinguish an electric vehicle fire was with sand.

66% of people believed that battery life only lasts for 2 to 5 years. But 8 out of 10, detection or charging behavior plays an important role in the battery life of an electric vehicle. The government is working to ensure that electric vehicles reach every household in the country at the earliest.

Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha during the monsoon session of Parliament said that till March 19, 2022, a total of 10,07,707 vehicles have been registered in the country. While according to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, by March 31, 2022, 1,742 charging stations have been built in the country and they are increasing rapidly.

Will electric vehicles be banned?

Is the era of electric vehicles i.e. EV going to end as soon as it starts around the world? Is it starting from Switzerland? Will electric vehicles be banned across Europe in the sequel? This question is arising because there are many such reports that Switzerland has banned electric vehicles. It is also being said that Europe may also be forced to do the same in the coming days.

However, there is no truth in the claim that Switzerland has banned EVs. Switzerland has prepared an emergency proposal in this regard, which includes the option of banning EVs. This proposal will be made keeping in view the preparations to be made during the coming harsh winter.

The winter season is very difficult in the whole of Europe including Switzerland and preparations are being made to deal with it. As far as the ban on EVs is concerned, its basis is the Ordinance named Prohibition and Prohibition on the Use of Electric Energy. As of now, the ordinance is only a draft being prepared by the Swiss Federal Council to deal with the energy crisis in the country in the coming days.

In this, four stages of the energy crisis have been mentioned. In this, there is talk of banning E-Vehicles in the third phase. This means that there may be a ban on EVs in Switzerland, but it will be temporary, and that too only when the energy crisis reaches the third stage out of four. But if Switzerland is taking this step, then it can be done in other countries of Europe as well.

Because the whole of Europe is going to face severe winter and in such a situation these countries may also have to ban electric vehicles. Switzerland's draft states that electric cars will also be allowed for essential travel only for personal purposes. This also means that the ban on electric vehicles may be partial.

Restrictions are being imposed on the use of electricity in Switzerland so that there is no shortage in the supply of electricity in the country and the common people do not have to face difficulties. 60% of Switzerland's total energy supply is dependent on hydroelectric power. In such a situation, in the coming days, Switzerland's energy needs will largely depend on imports.

For this reason, strict measures have been taken in the proposed draft. The biggest issue for New Zealand is its high dependence on Russian gas imports for energy. 43% of the natural gas consumed in Switzerland comes from Russia. Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, the whole of Europe has decided not to buy oil and gas from Russia.

And in such a situation, when the harsh winter is coming, very difficult situations are going to arise for these countries. A price cap of $60 per barrel has also been imposed on Russian oil since Monday. That is, no country will buy oil from Russia for more than 60 dollars. This is the reason why winter is going to be heavy on the whole of Europe.

That is, measures like Switzerland may have to be taken by other European countries as well. In this, a tough decision like banning electric vehicles may have to be taken. There is another problem with Switzerland. Its physical reserve of natural gas is largely stored in France. This capacity is about 15% of the annual composition, but this storage is also only up to 15 days.

In Switzerland, they have made up their mind to take some such measures which you will be shocked to hear. For example, public buildings will not be heated more than 20 degrees. Common people cannot run their washing machine above 40 degrees. Its physical reserve of natural gas is largely stored in France.
