BSNL Will be back on track with the support of Tata:
BSNL will catch a fast pace because the company has got
the support of Tata. The government has handed over the responsibility of an
important work of BSNL to Tata Group. As soon as this work is completed, then
the big players of the telecom sector i.e. Jio Airtel and Vodafone Idea, their
problems may increase.
Let's start with the news, and news is that BSNL has
given a contract to Tata Group's company to expand its 4G network. This work
has been entrusted to a consortium led by TCS. An advance purchase order of
₹15,000 crores has also been given to this consortium by BSNL. The consortium includes
telecom equipment manufacturers Tejas Networks.
Along with this, BSNL has also made government company
IIT Limited a part of an advance purchase order and the Center for Development of Telematics will also be made a part of TCS's consortium and soon the process
of setting up BSNL's entire network across the country will also begin. Under
this deal, about 1 lakh towers will be installed across the country.
This deal will prove to be the third-biggest in the IT
sector in the year 2023. Earlier, a $723 million deal was signed between
UK-based company Phoenix Group and British retail company Marks & Spencer.
One thing is proved by this big deal of ₹15,000 crores the government is now
gearing up to bring BSNL back on track and to become a big company in the
telecom sector.
You will say that the company which is already in bad
condition, will it be able to provide services in 4G. It is true, but you can
also find out about this from the revival plan given to the company. In July
2022 itself, the Union Cabinet announced ₹ 1.64 Lakh Crore as a revival package
for BSNL.
It had direct cash support of ₹43,964 crore, while
technical and other support of ₹1.20 lakh crore is separate. The package covers
three key areas. Firstly to improve the quality of service of BSNL, secondly to
maintain the balance sheet, and thirdly to strengthen broadband through a fiber
network. You will say that other companies have come on 5G, how will BSNL 4G
survive in the midst of all this?
So the thing to understand is that even though private
companies have started providing 5G services, will they be able to live up to
your expectations? Have they started providing 5G services across the country
yet? If the country's government company brought your services with a 4G
network, wouldn't it be better than the companies providing 5G services?
By the way, let us tell you for your information, even
today around 400 million users are using 2G networks across the country. For
them, BSNL 4G will be no less than a boon. As far as 5G is concerned, India
will be able to become a 5G nation completely within the next two to three
years. However, at present, the dominance of private players is visible in this
sector.
TRAI figures show that Jio has added more than 10 lakh subscribers in February itself, and with this, the number of Jio customers has increased to 42.71 crore. At the same time, the number of customers of Airtel has increased by 9.82 lakh customers. Unlike these two companies, the condition of Vodafone Idea is a bit worse. The company lost two million customers in February.
After which the number of VI users has come down to 23.79 crore. On the other hand, if we talk about BSNL, then the total number of its subscribers is more than 10 crores. Even though BSNL seems to be lagging in comparison to everyone else, in the future, if BSNL 4G services can provide better services to the people, then the biggest loss may be to Vodafone Idea.
Because the sword of danger is already hanging on the
customers of Vi and if they get a good option in the form of BSNL then it is
obvious that those customers can go to BSNL. On the other hand, a large
population of the country is still using a 2G network, so BSNL can work there
too. Please let us know what you think by commenting on our site.
