Could China Save the World from the Recession?
The dark clouds of recession are hanging over the world. Especially the condition of America and European countries is bad. There are reports in America that America may default in June. The American Central Bank does not have enough money to pay the interest on the government's debt.
The eyes of the whole world are on China, even in China the situation is not very good. China's economy is also under pressure, but still European countries are looking toward China with full hope. China could save the world from recession, But will it be possible?
Let's look at China's economy. In December last year, China abandoned the Zero Covid policy and since then its economy has been growing at a slow pace. But its pace was very slow. Import contracts saw a sharp decline of 7.9% in April, while exports grew at a slower pace of 8.5%, up from 14.8% in March.
The increase in wholesale prices in April was the lowest in two years, while wholesale prices also declined. The rate of new loans from banks has seen a decline more than expected. Last month, Chinese banks gave loans of 718.8 billion yuan, or about $104 billion, which is not even a fifth of the total loans in March.
This shows that China's economy is also faltering, but still, the situation looks a bit better than American and European countries. China also made a major contribution to recovering from the 2008 recession. Perhaps this is the reason why this time also European countries are pinning great hopes on China.
After the recession of 2008, China
has become a major raw material hub for the world. European countries have
imported raw materials from China in large quantities. This got him a lot of
support. Now the situation in China is looking a bit different. The debt burden
on China is very high.
According to the IMF, the debt of China's local
governments is 67 billion yuan, which is close to 50% of China's total GDP. The
situation in China is also not strong, but the good thing is that there has
been some improvement in the last few months. The IMF believes that it will
remain the largest driver of the global economy for the next five years.
China's contribution to the world's growth is 22.6%, which is twice as much as America's contribution of 11.3%, but the weakening demand in the Western world will also affect China's exports. Overall, it would be difficult to say whether China can save the global economy from recession or not.
Why is China charging strange fees to Indian travelers?
There are such beliefs in Hinduism that where Kailash is the peak of Mansarovar mountain, Bholenath resides there. That's why every year hundreds of pilgrims from India go there to have darshan of their Mahadev. In 2019, 31,000 Indians went on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Since then the journey was closed.
Every year the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is organized by the Ministry of External Affairs from June to September. Which takes 2 to 3 weeks to complete. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra can be done by three different routes. These three routes take a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 21 days. Now this yatra is being organized again.
But in this journey, a bad neighbor like China is also creating hurdles in it. To trouble India, this time China has made Kailash Mansarovar Yatra its weapon. After 31 months, China has started giving visa for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, but before that, it has made the rules related to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra much stricter than before. In which the decision to double the fees charged during this religious journey is also included.
Why would you think China would do this? The trick of the Chinese government, which has forgotten the religion of being a good neighbor, is to limit the entry of Indians into its country and it may be possible because Indian citizens have to pay at least ₹ 1 for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra as compared to earlier, 85,000 will have to be spent now.
Whereas in the year 2019, tour operators of Nepal used to charge only ₹ 90,000 for road trips. That is, this time the fee for traveling by road from China has been increased by ₹ 95,000. It can now be difficult for any common Indian to pay such a huge amount for this religious pilgrimage.
Apart from this, if any pilgrim going on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra keeps any assistant or helper with him, then in the name of gross damage fees, China has started the work of collecting $ 300 i.e. about ₹ 24,000 separately. China's argument behind charging this strange fee is that during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the grass around the route leading to Mount Kailash is damaged.
To compensate for that loss, $ 300 i.e. ₹ 24,000 in Indian currency is to be recovered. Not only this, the amount called the stay fee for 15 days has also been increased from ₹ 4200 to ₹ 13 thousand for keeping a helper with you. The rules that have made the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra more difficult include the fact that pilgrims will have to be physically present to obtain visas from China.
That is, applying for a visa online will not work. Mount Kailash is present in Tibet in the northern region of the Himalayas and Tibet is under China. That's why Kailash also comes to China only. Apart from this, now it is necessary to have a group of at least five people to get a visa.
Out of this, four people will have to reach for the visa.Only then a group of five people will be allowed to travel to Mansarovar. After that, the travelers will also have to go through the process related to biometric identification at Kathmandu or other base camps. The pilgrims will also have to undergo fingerprints and iris scanning for the database.
It is clear that by tightening the fees and rules related to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, China wants to block the faith of Indians. If you liked the information, then please comment on our site and don't forget to share.
