Where was the great treasure of lithium found?

There are many stories and tales in our country regarding the treasure. But nowadays discussions are in full swing in the country on a different treasure. We are talking about Lithium called White Gold, this treasure is hardly attractive to people because it is not shiny like gold, silver, or diamond. But this treasure can improve the future of every citizen of the country.

But you would think why are we talking about this treasure of ours? If you keep updated with the news then you would know. Recently, a huge reserve of lithium was found in Jammu and Kashmir, but today it has become necessary to discuss lithium because this time a bigger reserve of lithium than Jammu and Kashmir has been found in Rajasthan. Yes, heard it right.

Officials of the Geological Survey of India (GSI) have confirmed that the lithium reserves found in Rajasthan, Nagaur area are bigger than the recently discovered reserves in Jammu and Kashmir. According to a report, the officials claim that the lithium deposits found in Rajasthan can meet 80% of the country's demand.

In February, the lithium reserves found in Jammu and Kashmir were 5.9 million tonnes. In this, the cost of each ton of lithium is ₹ 57.36 lakh. Now you can guess. How much will the reserves of Jammu and Kashmir and the lithium reserves found in Rajasthan be even bigger than this? Which is currently being investigated.

If you are wondering why lithium is so precious? So let us tell you that lithium is used in everything from your electric vehicles to laptop, cell phones batteries as well as glass and ceramic industries. That is, you can say that every device that runs on a battery is dependent on lithium. That's why getting lithium reserves in the country is a matter of great benefit for the economy of India and the common people.

According to a report, the cost of electric vehicles can be reduced significantly by getting lithium reserves. This can greatly benefit the market of electric vehicles and their customers in the coming times. According to the World Bank report, by the year 2050, the global demand for lithium metal may increase by 500%.

Currently, Bolivia has the world's largest lithium reserves of 21 million tonnes. After this, it also has large reserves in Argentina, Chile, America, and China. According to a Quartz news agency report, India now has the fifth largest lithium reserves in the world. However, with 5.1 million tonnes of lithium reserves, China continues to monopolize the global market.

You must know that China is also the king in the manufacturing of electric vehicles. That's why his coin works in this market also. India also buys 53.76% of its total lithium imports from China. In the year 2020-21, India had imported lithium worth more than ₹ 6000 crore and out of this lithium worth more than ₹ 3500 crore was purchased from China itself.

From this point of view also, getting immense reserves of Lithium in Rajasthan is very beneficial not only for the state but also for the country's economy. Let us tell you that lithium is the softest and lightest metal in the world. It is also soft enough to be cut with a vegetable knife and light enough to float when put in water.

It stores chemical energy i.e. collects and converts it into electrical energy. Lithium is present in almost every chargeable electronic and battery-powered gadget in the home today. For this reason, there is a huge demand for lithium around the world and hence it is also called White Gold.
