Why OLA, Hero, and Okinawa are got stuck?
A complaint has been filed against Ola electric in the Ministry of Industry. The company was wrongly collecting money from the customers. But now fearing
the action of the Ministry, they have taken a big decision, and that decision
is that the company is now ready to return the extra money taken from the
customers.
Now if you are thinking that for what money the company took
extra money from the customers and on what issue is Ola standing in the dark
today? By the way, let us tell you that not only Ola, apart from Ola, Okinawa,
and Hero Electric are also standing in the same dock. Let's start with Ola. Ola was
charging customers money in the name of an e-scooter charger. That too for a
long time.
But the company could not do so. Now according to the rules,
the Ministry of Heavy Industries has informed that from 2019-20 till March 30
this year, the company kept taking extra money in the name of e-scooter
chargers from the buyers of the Ola S1-Pro model. But the question is, how did
Ola play this game?
According to the information received from the ministry, Ola
was taking advantage of the subsidy being received under the FAME (Faster
Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles), but the company
was not following the rules of the subsidy being received. Because according to
these rules, the money from the charger cannot be recovered from the customers.
But in the name of the Ola Charger, the customers were being
charged a higher price for the E-scooter. In this regard, the Ministry received
some complaints, after which the investigation was done and the complaints were
found correct in the investigation. After this, the ministry took action
against Ola.
Seeing the strictness of the ministry, Ola took the money
fast. Giving information before any kind of action from the Ministry, the
company announced that Ola Company is going to return its customers from ₹
9,000 to ₹ 19,000. The company is going to pay ₹130 crores taken from customers
in the name of chargers.
However, there is still a problem here. The company is going
to return the money, but the company has not informed us when and within what
time this payment will be made. However, even after such disturbances, if you
look at the sales figures of the company, it is continuously increasing.
According to the latest sales figures, Ola's share in the electric vehicle
scooter market has increased to 40%.
Ola recorded the highest-ever sales in April, which is more
than 30,000 units. However, let us also tell you that the Ministry has not only
issued notice to Ola in the name of recovery of extra money but Okinawa and
Hero Electric have also been found guilty in other cases. A notice has been
issued by the Ministry in this regard.
According to the information, a notice of ₹ 133 crore has
been issued to Hero by the Ministry, while a notice of recovery of ₹ 116 crore
has been issued to Okinawa. Both companies went against the rules and used more
imported spares in their vehicles. These spare parts could have been
manufactured in India itself, and a huge amount of money could have been saved.
For these spares, the company had received a subsidy from
the government under the FAME scheme. If this was found correct during the
investigation, the ministry issued notices for recovery from both companies.
Now it has to be seen how long these three companies pay the extra money
charged from the customers.
